Vampire Weekend finally, officially unveiled some new music last night when they ran through “Unbelievers” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and nobody was more excited than this dude:

But he might have had good reason. The song is solid, and it’s the first proper taste of the highly anticipated follow-up to 2010’s break-out Contra.

Since it was Halloween, the group and its extra musicians wore some half-assed monster make-up for the gig, but the real highlight had to be those monstrously large ads for the new Hyundai Santa Fe. It’s got flames on the side of it! How badass is that? But no, if you’re going to wear costumes on national television, go all the way. Even usual party-poopers Megadeth did last year when they were on Kimmel’s show.

Vampire Weekend’s new album was originally expected out by the end of this year, but it’s more likely going to be in stores in early 2013.
