Nick Oliveri rejoins Kyuss Lives! just in time for them to change their name to Vista Chino

The big news this week with Kyuss Lives! was supposed to be that gun-toting bassist Nick Oliveri had rejoined the band after finally getting his shit together, but that’s just been one-upped with news that they’ve gone and changed their name to Vista Chino.
Though the name sounds like something lifted from a J. Crew catalogue, Brant Bjork, John Carcia and Nick Oliveri seem poised to keep the Kyuss tradition alive. As Rolling Stone points out, the name change is likely motivated by a lawsuit launched earlier this year by former Kyuss members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder, who said Kyuss Lives! were effectively trying to steal the name.
It could be as much a consolation as a settlement, mind you. With word that Oliveri is also recording a song for the new Queens of the Stone Age album, this could be the sign that after more than a decade of bickering and blubbering, the ties are starting to come together once more.
