Grey’s Anatomy is apparently still a thing that still stars a guy who goes by “McSteamy” but more important than that is that McSteamy (Eric Dane) is suing Billy Corgan, whose eucalyptus tree reportedly “almost killed” the then 9-month pregnant Rebecca Gayheart.

If it sounds strange, that’s because it is. According to the suit, Corgan’s 50 foot tree was uprooted during a storm and sent crashing onto Dane’s property, smashing windows and causing he and wife Gayheart’s house to flood. The suit alleges that the incredibly pregnant Gayheart had to quickly escape the house while dodging high voltage wires. Scary stuff, no doubt, but a little ridiculous when you think about it.

In short, a storm sent Billy Corgan’s tree through Rebecca Gayheart’s window and nobody got hurt, but she and Eric Dane are still suing for “nuisance, negligence and injunctive relief,” which is a fancy way of saying they’re suing him because they can’t sue the tree. Or the weather.

“I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base!” said Corgan, who claims he was never warned about the dangers of owning a tree. “Thankfully no one was injured.”

Corgan, who says his suitors are “nice people,” told TMZ he had “similarly dangerous” trees removed after the storm.
