Reddit is many things to many people. It’s a place to ask President Obama anything, a place to talk with others about your poo, and, most famously since Gawker’s expose, a place to build up a horrifying online persona based on hate and pedophilia.

But there’s music! So much fucking music. And because Reddit is an increasingly useful and popular way to discover things before they find their way to the front page of Gawker or Buzzfeed, you’d probably be stoked to add a few subreddit subscriptions to your daily music intake.

Here are some of the best music-related subreddits for your reading, listening, and viewing pleasure.

/r/mashups: Shut up, mashups still rule. Check out new jams on jams every day.

/r/MetalMemes: “Raking the Lawn?” Cannibal Corpse album title jokes? The best Slayer meme ever? Great.

/r/DIYGear: Get creative, make an amp out of a toilet or something.

/r/mixes: Fresh mixes.

/r/CoverSongs: You’ll have to sift through the “dorm room Danielel Johnstonn” clips, but there’s rad gold buried in the turds.

/r/FL_Studio: Learn tips for making killer trap beats with the popular, affordable, and intuitive FL Studio program.

/r/OFWGKTA: Most internet.

/r/WTFMusicVideos: Lose hours from your life watching that “German Sparkle Party” music video.

/r/ifyoulikeblank: Like a human (well, internet human) version of the “recommended artists” tab on your Rdio account, perfect for music discovery. “If you like _____, you’ll like…”

/r/PirateRadio: Damn the man.

/r/gamemusic: Live your life like a Scott Pilgrim vs. the World extra every single day. A mix of chiptune remixes, classic video game themes, and generally lovable low-bit nerdiness.
