Jackie Jormp-Jomp will probably never be a real thing, but we’re one step closer with one of two proposed Janis Joplin movies in the pipeline getting notched with the rights to use the late-singer’s songs as the other gets the nod to move into pre-production. Indiewire take this to mean Get It While You Can doesn’t, but hey: “Chunk of My Lung” is probably up for grabs.

Set to be directed by Lee Adams (Precious), Get It While You Can will star Amy Adams, who’s been signed onto play Joplin since word of a biopic started circling in 2010. Unfortunately for them, its Joplin, Sean Durkin’s Nina Arianda-starring flick that’s got the rights to use Janis Joplin’s music. Both are looking to start filming in early 2013.
