Lil Wayne is Walter White.

We fell in love with his clumsy charm and respected his dedication to his craft. We watched him gradually rise to the top of the game and it only brought us closer. Seeing the underdog triumph is always something regular everyday folk like us will relate to. Wayne was our hero. As sketchy as he was, he made us feel like we could do anything, as long as we go crazy. But as of late, he’s been making a few missteps. He’s still the same guy but it seems as if he’s lost his way.

After meandering his way through his early career, Wayne picked up a brave and clear mission statement: he was going to be the best at what he does and that would make him rich. He’s completed this mission and now, things are getting weird. The guy we wanted to root for just seems to be hanging in there for the hell of it. He wants to hang on to the title but does he even need it anymore? This is why it’s getting hard to care about him and when guests show up on his new mixtape, Dedication 4, Wayne becomes somewhat of a secondary character in all of this. This is Lil Wayne’s tape, but J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Mouse are the reasons it’s enjoyable.

With Breaking Bad, we know there’s a plan; Walt’s downward spiral has given us five years of intrigue and it will culminate in something awesome next year. On the other hand, this Wayne shit won’t stop but it’s still impossible to look away. [DOWNLOAD]
