Did Disney rip off "chip-punk" Anamanaguchi for their new commercial?

All signs point to yes.

While it’s easy to brush off the comparison between Disney’s new commercial and Anamanaguchi’s “Jetpack Blues Sunset Hues” as a product of the genre, the similarities are absolutely striking when both songs are played simultaneously. Redditor duhweirdy was nice enough to do just that, combining the two tracks with Disney’s in the left channel and Anamanaguchi’s in the right in the video posted above.

Other than a key-change, both tracks sync up almost perfectly. Not that this is hugely surprising: Disney’s been accused of stealing content and ideas for almost as long as they’ve been around.
