Let’s all start a slow-clap for Devo, who’ve just solidified themselves as master trolls with “Don’t Roof Rack Me, Bro,” a song written from the perspective of Mitt Romney’s dog.

If you’re confused… good. But here’s the back story: in 1983 (!!) Mitt Romney and family were off to their cottage and decided to put their dog, Seamus, in a roof-top kennel carrier. It was a 12 hour trip, which is insanely cruel. That’s why they’ve launched the Remember Seamus campaign, and to explain what that is we’ll use a direct quote from their website:

Go off the leash by choosing a non-human as the most important political figure of this election. Make 2012 the year where animals like Seamus are valued and honesty is praised.

As if that wasn’t clever enough, they’re also planning on launching a mobile game called The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed this Fall (per Paste Magazine) which is described on Facebook as “an addictive, fun game for mobile phones that lets Seamus get revenge against his arch enemy, Mitt Romney.”

Like we said, master trolls.

Listen to the meme-referencing song below (via the Hollywood Reporter), and as the website says, “Insist on the Dog’s honest truth.”
