We didn’t report on the Desaparecidos reunion when we first heard of it because it was supposed to be a one off gig. Then they played a secret show and debuted two new songs. We hoped new music meant something more.

Turns out it did: the band has just put two new songs online, both of which are out digitally and on 7″ tomorrow.

The first is “Backsell,” which we posted about (but hadn’t yet heard) back in April. It’s streaming on the Alternative Press front page. The second, which you can listen to above, is “MariKKKopa,” a biting criticism of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Check it out courtesy of Huffington Post, who premiered the song earlier today.

But here’s what we’re wondering: what happened to “Left is Right,” the first new track we heard and wrote about four months ago. Once again we’re left wondering if something more could be on the horizon. We’ve got our fingers crossed—all we’re asking is for you to do the same. They’re playing their first tour in ten years this fall, but it won’t make its way to Canada, so check their official site for a list of dates.
