Timbaland is releasing new music, this time for the soundtrack of Step Up Revolution, the next chapter in the series of flashy, high energy dance movies. Timbo is joined by his eternal hat-wearing companion Ne-Yo for another one of those high-octane desperation-anthem (“let’s party because it’s all that we’ve got left!”) type of euro-dance influenced pop songs. Check out the video, for your daily dose of choreography and wacky faces.

The video seems to be comprised of scenes from the movie and original footage, and showcases some pretty spectacular hip-hop dancing, with Timbo mean-mugging at the bar of a club filled with young people. For most of the video, he looks either forlorn or annoyed, leaning against the bar as if he’s waiting for someone. It’s a pretty strange premise, and the only believable context we could give it is that Timbo is just waiting to drive his daughter and her jerk-ass boyfriend home. He then makes an R&B-singing, hat-wearing, shiny-lapelled unlikely friend in Ne-Yo, and they agree to start a chain of combination haberdashery/vodka bars called “Hats (Smirn)Off To Ya!” together.

We all know that Timbaland is notorious for mugging to the camera during his music videos. Example:

So for your reference, here are the five best mugging-moments from “Hands In The Air” featuring Ne-Yo:

0:30

The “I Just Sucked On A Lemon” Face

1:42

The “Jazz Claw” Face

2:05

The “I Just Realized I Left The Oven On” Face

2:19

The “Did Anyone See Me Do That?” Face

3:59

The “I’ll Drink To That” Face

Check out the video below, and be sure to pay close attention for those show-stealing wacky faces. Step Up Revolution is in theatres on July 27th, 2012.
