We crossed our fingers that Snoop Dogg would keep his voice straight for his newly announced reggae project as Snoop Lion, but the first word uttered in the Major Lazer produced “La La La” is “dem,” and there’s no shortage of “fi”s and “tings” sprinkled throughout the track. But aside from Snoop’s poorly feigned Jamaican accent, the track’s about what you’d expect from the reefmaster general’s first full foray into pot’s prototypical sound.

Snoop Lion’s Reincarnation should be out later this year, and he’ll reportedly make his live debut under the new name on August 3rd at Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival Toronto, or Caribana as everyone still rightfully calls it.
