At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#8: Rihanna – Where Have You Been?

That may be true, but my penmanship is better. Look at those “G”s! Tsk, tsk. Sloppy.

FUN FACT: Rihanna is set to voice a lead character alongside Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons in the new DreamWorks animated film called Happy Smekday. What’s a “Smekday”? Your guess is as good as mine. Sounds gross, though.

#29: Wiz Khalifa – Work Hard, Play Hard

If that’s really enough for you, Wiz, I’ll gladly take the millions of dollars, supermodel fiancé, and endless supply of weed off of your hands. Thanks! Man, what a positive guy.

FUN FACT: Amber Rose has given up her dreams of becoming a pop star, in favour of becoming a mother. The model told Hip Hollywood that she was ready to focus on being the mother to Wiz Khalifa’s children. If you’ve heard Amber Rose’s singing, you know that pop stardom was never an option.

(Uncharted): Azealia Banks – Liquorice

What kind of restaurant allows that kind of language? Arby’s? Definitely Arby’s.

FUN FACT: Let’s give “liquorice bitch” some context. The name of Azealia’s most recent single is “Liquorice.” I can’t defend the other part, though.

#3: Maroon 5 – Payphone feat. Wiz Khalifa (Prod. Benny Blanco)

All you have to say is “That’s the guy who’s responsible for moves like Jagger!” and a mob will carry him away and strip his bones clean.

FUN FACT: Rome (yeah, Rome from “Sublime With Rome”) has a solo record out, and it features production work by Benny Blanco. I guess Benny Blanco really loved “Santeria” growing up.

#35 (Pop Songs): Coldplay – Paradise

My question is, how did Coldplay get to meet 98 Degrees?! Eeeeeeek Nick is my favourite.

FUN FACT: 98 degrees are reuniting for one show only, at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on August 18th. Boybands are back in 2012, but I don’t know if the fans are willing to go that far back.
