Azealia Banks does the unthinkable and makes us root for Sarah Palin.

At this point, Azealia Banks is known more for being a garbage human than a musician. Because sure, “212” was a banger, but 2011 was a long time ago, and in the years since she’s outed herself as a racist, homophobic, and at times violently entitled brat. And finally, someone’s called her on it.

Of all people, that someone is Sarah Palin.

This one’s a weird one, and it’s filled with some, er, colourful hate-speech, so consider this your trigger warning. It started when Azealia Banks, who is perhaps not the sharpest tool in the shed, stumbled upon a satirical Sarah Palin article which made ludicrous, absurd claims about Palin’s take on slavery.

Rather than apply some context to the article, Banks did what she always does, launching full steam into a twitter tirade filled with incredibly graphic depictions of rape and assault. Trigger warning. So much trigger warning.

Palin responded, throwing incredible shade while referring to Banks solely as “Female Rapper.”

Banks, perhaps for the first time ever, took responsibility and apologized. Sort of.

“I sincerely apologize for any emotional distress or reputational scarring i may have caused you,” wrote Banks. “In my honest defense, i was completely kidding.”

“I happen to have a really crass, New-York-City sense of humor, and regularly make silly jokes in attempts make light of situations which make me uncomfortable.”

Too little too late, though, as word got out late last night that Palin has not only decided against accepting the apology, but has begun pursuing legal action against Banks.

“I’ve had enough of the unanswered threats and attacks against my family and me,” said Palin in a statement to People. “So, for the first time I’m going to enjoy the only retribution some protected ‘celebrities’ seem to understand – I’m suing Azealia Banks and can’t wait to share my winnings with others who have gone defenseless against lies and dangerous attacks far too long.”
