Tonight at NXNE, Eight and a Half will play a free show at Yonge-Dundas Square, Toronto’s dystopian commercial beating heart. It’s a great and weird place to watch bands, emerging over the last few years as a bizarre festival highlight. Eight and a Half join Plants and Animals and Matthew Good for tonight’s outdoor spectacle, and even though you will be able to watch reruns of How I Met Your Mother and movie trailers and perfume ads on massive screens all around you while the band plays, it will be far from the strangest venue its members have performed in. From their time in the trenches with the Stills and Broken Social Scene, these are the weirdest places that Eight and a Half have played.
