It’s never good when a band is forced to cancel a handful of summer shows while one of their own undergoes treatment for alcohol abuse, but that was the reality for High on Fire when it was announced late last week that guitarist Matt Pike has entered rehab and they’d be scratching off what was thought to be all of their gigs these next coming month.

But according to a tweet from the folks at Heavy MTL, it seems like High on Fire are still set to play both Heavy shows in Toronto and Montreal.

That’s great news for Canadian fans of the band, who can still hope to see them support De Vermis Mysteriis when they take the stage in Toronto on August 11th and Montreal on August 12th.

Still, we hope this is the right decision. Alcohol abuse is a very real illness and we wish Pike the best on his road to recovery.
