Check out photos of Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix from new biopic

When we found out that Andre 3000 was going to be playing Jimi Hendrix in All Is By My Side, an upcoming biopic about the legendary guitarist’s life, we weren’t sure what to think. Sure, you can see a bit of a resemblance, but does Andre Bejamin have the acting chops to pull off an in-depth impersonation like that? His acting work in Semi-Pro, Be Cool, those razor commercials, and the video for Outkast song “Roses” (“The Loooooooove Below!”) aren’t exactly Oscar caliber performances.

Still, you’ve gotta admit — these photos of Andre on set show that he’s really got the look down. We’re curious to see the biopic come together, but let’s hope that Andre 3000 doesn’t pull a Timberlake and ditch music for acting altogether.
