Based on recent social media posts, Kid Cudi has some kind of affiliation with the Ninja Turtles reboot. So here’s the real question: is Cudi playing the pizza-loving, wise-cracking Michelangelo, or is he the sai-yielding aggressively rebellious Raphael? Or, possibly more likely, is he writing the soundtrack? Let’s have a little fun with this. If the TMNT reboot cast was made up entirely of rappers and pop stars, who would we cast for the upcoming Michael Bay produced live-action interpretation?

Recently, Kid Cudi took to his Tumblr page to show off a one of a kind TMNT sketch by Kevin Eastman, one of the creators of the series.

Cudi had this to say on Tumblr:

“An original one of a kind sketch of a unknown Ninja Turtle by one half of the creators, Kevin Eastman. A gift given to me by my homies Andrew Form and Brad Fuller over at Platinum Dunes. Hint hint mane”

“Hint hint mane”? C’mon, Mr. WZRD. You gotta break us off a little more than that.

Andrew Form and Brad Fuller just happen to be partners with Michael Bay over at Platinum Dunes, the production company responsible for producing the series relaunch.

Thankfully, Cudi did break us off a little more, on his twitter account:

Clearly, Kid Cudi has some kind of affiliation with the Ninja Turtles reboot. So here’s the real question: is Cudi playing the pizza-loving, wise-cracking Michelangelo, or is he the sai-yielding aggressively rebellious Raphael? Or, possibly more likely, is he writing the soundtrack for Ninja Turtles, just like Pitbull & MIB 3? An acting role wouldn’t be out of the question for Cudi, given his participation in the HBO series How To Make It In America.

Let’s have a little fun with this. If the TMNT reboot cast was made up entirely of rappers and pop stars, who would we cast?

Donatello – will.i.am

will.i.am’s efforts with Nasa and his inclination towards science, technology, and the future make him a no-brainer for Donatello, a ninja turtle known for his intellect and technological affinity.

Michelangelo – Lil Wayne

He’s a skateboarding, catchphrase-spouting, loveable troublemaker. Weezy embodies everything Michelangelo.

Leonardo – Rick Ross

Widely-known as the unofficial leader of the Ninja Turtles, who better to portray Leo than the Boss himself?

Raphael – Kid Cudi

This moody, rebellious ninja turtle can’t be tamed. LET HIM MAKE A ROCK RECORD IF HE WANTS.

Splinter – RZA

Nothing but respect for Splinter, and nothing but respect for RZA.

Shredder – Chad Kroeger

It’s only fitting that hip-hop’s main nemesis should be radio rock’s most widely-hated frontman. To be fair, he shreds a mean solo, too.

April O’Neil – Kreayshawn

A red-headed reporter and a red-headed rapper. Coincidentally, both tourists to the underground.

Rocksteady & Bebop – OutKast (Big Boi & Andre 3000)

It’s hard to imagine them as villains, but it’s really funny to imagine Big Boi as a warthog, and Andre 3000 as a rhino.

Krang – Cee Lo Green

I’m pretty sure that Cee Lo will need an exoskeleton soon, so this casting decision made perfect sense.
