With 70,000 Tons of Metal behind us, Barge to Hell is ready to try and take the reins from the world’s first heavy metal cruise tour.

Billing itself as “The World’s Most Extreme Metal Cruise,” Barge to Hell’s line-up is already set to feature the summery sounds of acts like Enslaved, Possessed, Sodom and Rotting Christ. So far 16 bands out of a total 40 have been announced with the line-up expected to flesh out over the coming months. The ship is currently scheduled to set sail out of Miami on December 3rd, 2012. It’ll go for five days (taking time changes into account), ending in the Bahamas on December 7th. Naturally ticket prices are set at $666….plus a whole bunch of taxes and fees (just under $300’s worth).

Yes, it’s a pretty clear bite on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, but since they’re both run by the same company, we’re less inclined to call them competitors. Keep an eye on the cruise’s pun-filled website for more line-up announcements.
