Though the Walkmen have been playing a handful of 10tn anniversary shows and were confirmed as one of the higher-billed Osheaga acts for this year, the only info we’d gotten so far on their upcoming album was that it would be out in the summer and was being produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, the Shins, Modest Mouse). Today, the band announced that the album would be titled Heaven, and set its release date for June 5.

The album was recorded in Ek’s Seattle studio, and will feature guest vocals from Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold on a couple of songs, according to a statement. “We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement,” frontman Hamilton Leithauser said.

You can hear a couple of minutes of new music in the teaser trailer below. Are you feeling that statement? [via Pitchfork]
