Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders said last year in an interview that his band would be teaming up with Feist to release a split seven-inch for Record Store Day (taking place this year on April 21), and now they’ve detailed what the contents of the split will be.

Each artist will cover the other: Mastodon will cover “A Commotion” from Metals (makes sense; it’s probably one of the darkest and is the most aggressive on the album), and Feist will cover “Black Tongue” from The Hunter.

Turns out Mastodon will be releasing another cover single for Record Store Day—they’ll be the B-side of a single featuring the Flaming Lips’ “Spoonful Weighs a Ton” on the A-side. And yes, that’s what they’ll be covering. [via Pitchfork]
