Because nothing says Canada Day like a Tragically Hip concert, the prodigal sons of Can-rock have gotten a head start on this year’s celebrations, announcing today that they’re headed to Burl’s Creek in Oro, Ontario for a Canadian bash under the sun.
Better yet, they’ll be joined by Death Cab for Cutie, The New Pornographers and the Rural Alberta Advantage, who’ll also play a show with the Hip on the 30th in Niagara Falls to celebrate the War of 1812’s bicentennial. That show is set to take place at the historic Butler’s Barracks in Niagara on the Lake.
Head to the hip’s website for more information on either show. Here’s hoping these festivities go off a little better than last year’s.
