Band in a Box is an AUX original web series that asks bands to take us through the making of one of their music videos… while they’re displayed in a box inside said music video. Cool name, right?

Using the artwork culled from one of frontman Wally De Backer’s father’s paintings, “Somebody That I Used To Know” comes from Gotye’s 2011 album, Making Mirrors. The video currently has over 75 million views on YouTube; it has been covered by some kids from Burlington on Ellen (whose own online cover has just passed the 55 million views mark). On the single’s success, Gotye has become an early contender for one of the major break-out artists of 2012, despite toiling in independent semi-obscurity for nearly a decade.
