The Oscars have created a new position this year, the role of music supervisor, and for its inaugural year, it’ll be handled by Pharrell Williams and composer Hans Zimmer (Inception).

Typically the Oscars’ only musical performances are of nominated songs, and it’s not yet clear why the two were hired and what they’ll add, but more info will likely come out in the coming weeks.

The 84th Academy Awards take place on February 26th. [via Rolling Stone]
