At this point it’s useless joking about MC Hammer’s financial woes (Simpsons did it!), but the fiscally maligned one-and-a-half-hit wonder says he’s finally paid of his debts. Unfortunately for him, the United States Government begs to differ and is apparently suing the parachute pant wearing rapper for$779,585 in back taxes owed.

Not one to back down from the allegations (Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em!), Hammer took to Twitter to say that he’s already paid the money back.

“700k … Don’t get too excited .. I paid them already and kept my receipt. Stamped by a US Federal Judge,” he tweeted last night.

This is of course just the latest in Hammer’s ongoing troubles with money. He famously declared bankruptcy in the mid-90s after falling $13 million in debt. AllHipHop reports that these back taxes owed are from around that time.
