It’s official—Foo Fighers rock super, super hard. Like has hard as a volcano rumbling.

At a recent New Zealand show, the band and the 50,000-person audience officially shook the earth move about as much as volcanic activity would. GeoNet, a geological hazard monitoring organization blog, said that two nearby stations picked up the Foos-generated movement on their seismometers.

“The first vibrations were recorded around 7:30pm, part way through the Tenacious D set, but the biggest shakes started at 8:20pm when the Foo Fighters took the stage, and then it all went quiet at 11pm when the gig ended,” says the blog. Though, as Canadians, we must point out that somewhere in there was our very own Fucked Up, who were also on the tour. That they are not earth-shaking is earth-shaking news to us.

The signals even shows the lulls between songs and the especially rockingest parts of a song. “You can almost pick out individual songs on the signal,” the GeoNet blog said. FOO FIGHTERS: literally rocking your, and our, and everyone’s, world. [via Spin]
