Coming off of a two-year hiatus, Sigur Rós could be putting out a new album as early as next spring.

While the Icelandic quartet describe their new songs as “floaty” and “introverted,” Wall Street Journal writer Jim Fusilli met with the band at their studio in Iceland and recounts hearing a preliminary recording of a new song that was filled with falsetto, “rich choral voices and what sounded like a pipe organ.”

Sigur Rós will release Inni, a two disc concert documentary and live album next Tuesday (the 15th).
