Listen to the original, Prince Paul produced version of Slick Rick's "Behind Bars"

It turns out that the version of Slick Rick’s “Behind Bars” released back in 1994 wasn’t the original cut of the song. Prince Paul, who’s credited as the song’s producer, says the album version isn’t the one he worked on in the early 90s.

“The song didn’t come out until 94 but to my surprise was remixed by Warren G and Def Jam scrapped my mix,” said Paul on his Soundcloud page. “Though I’m still considered a writer of the song I was really hoping to have this heard (well in 92 when we recorded it that is). Though it sounds pretty dated its still one of my favorites and I had the pleasure of working with a Genius Slick Rick.”
