With Amy Winehouse‘s posthumous album Lioness Hidden Treasures coming out next month, word has also come out that the singer has banned her label from releasing “a dozen” or so songs that were unfinished.
Now in Island Record’s property, Winehouse chose the songs for the album and wants the rest kept away.
“We’ve had to qualify [Lioness] in front of Amy’s family. Her mum, her dad, her brother – that’s her very vocal, protective brother – plus fiances, stepfathers and more,” Island’s Darcus Beese told Music Week magazine.
It seems an odd request for someone who presumably didn’t know they were going to die, no? Island says they plan to respect the late singer’s wishes. [via The Guardian]
