Watch Black Star perform their new song, "Fix Up," from last night's Colbert Report

Recently reunited hip-hop heroes Black Star may have cancelled the rest of their short-lived reunion tour but that didn’t stop ’em from stopping by Stephen Colbert’s studio yesterday for a performance of “Fix Up,” their first new song in close to six years.

Not only that, but Talib Kweli and Mos Def or Yasiin or whatever his name is now also stuck around a grilling interview and a web-exclusive performance of the Black Star classic “Astronomy (8th Light)”.

“Fix Up” is the first song off Black Star’s reported reunion album, rumoured to be on its way sometime next year. Madlib handled production duties on the song, which means you should definitely check it out up top if you haven’t hit play yet. Due to some confusion with the video you’ll have to watch the group’s interview with Colbert first, but hey, it’s your lucky day because it’s a great interview. Skip to the 5 minute mark if you’re lazy, though.
