Proving that being in a band for the pursuit of money is not only the dumbest reason to do it but will often result in personal and professional failure, a recent survey shows that bands care most about the professional quality of a venue when touring, both in mechanics and people.

Digital Music News teamed up with Reverb Nation to survey bands—though we don’t know which ones—on the most important quality of the venues in which they end up making their living (or not) while touring. Turns out the professional quality of the venue in terms of sound and in the promoters or venue operators ranked first, followed by money, reputation, availibility, and lastly, capacity.

The study was based on bands that play an average of 34 shows per year. [via Digital Music News]
