What happens when you take two of the strongest personalities in Canadian music who just happen to both be hams and also long-time friends (or, at the very least, acquaintances)? You get something like this video of Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew attempting an interview with Sloan’s Chris Murphy. You get laughter, too.

Our pals at Exclaim! set the two up with a mic and let the camera roll backstage at a festival as Drew asserted himself as the younger of the two Can-rock generations, talking about watching Sloan on old TV interviews. Drew was one of the participants in the Sloan 20th anniversary video tribute earlier this year.

It’s part one of three, so there’s promise of more laughter in your life in the weeks ahead.
