If you’re like us, you learned about the professional (and personal, ooh la la) collaboration between it-guy Bon Iver and one of Canada’s gems, Kathleen Edwards, in Exclaim’s Bon Iver feature, and now we get to hear one of the first results of the pairing.

Pitchfork has a stream of the song “Wapusk” right here, the a-side to Edwards’ upcoming seven-inch single of the same name, written in the “remote and barren spot located in northern Manitoba” for the National Parks Project. On Edwards’ website, she says that she later re-recorded it in Wisconsin with Vernon, which, “unknowingly, marked the first of many months spent in the studio together.”

Listen to “Wapusk” here.
