If you were left scratching your head a bit by that last Peter Gabriel album (2010’s covers album Scratch My Back), you’re probably going to be scratching for a while yet—Gabriel has announced his next venture, which will be another orchestral covers record of sorts, only this time he’ll be doing reworkings of his own catalogue.

Called New Blood, the album will be out on October 11, and if we’re being honest, we kinda can’t wait to hear what he does with “Solsbury Hill” and “Digging in the Dirt.”

There’ll also be a double-disc version, with disc 2 featuring instrumental versions. You can check out the full orchestral soundtrack below. [via Pitchfork]
