Sting and Peter Gabriel team up for doubleheader tour

Break out your crop tops and Z Cavaricci pants: Sting and Peter Gabriel are going on tour.

The two biggest rock monsters of the ’80s (well, after Rock Biter and the Goblin King) will perform both together and solo on a 19-date North American tour. *Cool aunts everywhere stand to attention*

In a video announcing the Rock Paper Scissors tour, Sting explains that they haven’t yet chosen their setlist, but that each show will start with the pair performing a few songs together then “choose who will do a set on their own — 15, 20 minutes — and then we’ll come together again.”

Gabriel, for his part, explains the rationale behind the tour’s name: “Rock: we make some music. Paper: they made an offer we couldn’t refuse. And after we do the business, we cut away.” Damn, this tour seems really artistically sound, and is clearly being done for the right reasons.

Sidenote: Peter Gabriel looks a lot like Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (RIP) from Coil now. There’s a tour I’d pay to see. “Sledgehammer” back to back with “Dark River”? Oh baby. Instead we’ll have to endure “Desert Rose.”
