Lou Reed and Metallica reveal release date and (maybe?) cover art for their collaborative album

The previously reported Lou Reed and Metallica collaborative album has a release date now, according to the splash page that went up at loureedmetallica.com today.

According to the site, the album will be released on November 1 in North America, and October 31 everywhere else. The site also features a black and white photo of the five musicians, which was taken by Anton Corbijn, according to the Quietus. There’s something about the photo that speaks at least a little to Reed’s bold claim that this thing could be “maybe the best thing done by anyone, ever.”
