Well, nice try anyway, Vaccines.

The London, UK band recently appeard on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, which is where this cover of Katy Perry‘s “Last Friday Night” comes from, and whether or not you’re a fan (guiltily or shamelessly) of the original, this one doesn’t really bring much else to it. If anything, the languid almost drawl is a funny contrast to Perry’s sunny autovoice, and that plunking plastic bass line—the real star of the song(s)—is actually pretty close to the original.
