New Outkast album rumoured for 2012, with new solo projects later this year

Citing an, erm, “rock-solid industry source,” HipHopWired called an exclusive on the news of a new Outkast album next year, with both Andre 3000 and Big Boi first finishing up solo albums for release this year. This rock-solid source says:

“Outkast is on track to release a new album by early next year. Both Dre and Big are working on solo projects; they want those out by the end of 2011.”

HipHopWired says the source has had close contact with one of the Outkast guys (original italics kept in place! Wow they mean business!), so this is obviously 100% for sure true. That or they knew that the internet would explode on this one so good work on the rumours, you got us!
