Vancouver garage duo the Pack a.d. are getting set to release their fourth full-length album Unpersons on September 13, and today they’ve released the lead single. You can stream “Sirens” below.

the original name for “Sirens” is said to have been “Hoot,” says the band in a press release. “As in literally what [is happening] in the chorus Then it became about an ancient undersea monster.” Excellent.

Unpersons was recorded at Hive Studios in Vancouver and produced by Jim Diamond (The Dirtbombs, The White Stripes). It’s being billed as a break-up record, one to “vaporize those who shall not be named, and erase any trace of their existence with a dense cloud of fuzz bomb riffs, tribal rhythms, and hard (legal) drugs.”
