Halifax Pop Explosion announces initial lineup featuring Black Lips, of Montreal, Deer Tick and more

Halifax Pop Explosion celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and an early look at its lineup suggests this could be the best one yet. While a press release suggests that the full roster of bands set to play this year’s festivities is yet to be unveiled, bands like of Montreal, Black Lips, Deer Tick and Wintersleep are leading the way as the first bunch of headliners.

Dan Mangan, as you might remember, was announced as this year’s Symphony Nova Scotia headliner.

Other acts announced include El-P, Elliott BROOD, the Pack A.D. and Purity Ring.

This year’s iteration of Halifax Pop Explosion is scheduled to run October 16th to the 20th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 6th. Head to the festival’s website for more information.
