At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#15: Chris Brown –Look At Me Now

Looks like Breezy is having an identity crisis. Either that, or he’s just incredibly stupid.

Worth Following?: If you ever want your hate-on for Chris Brown validated, follow him on twitter. It’s like having a front row seat to the “I’m An Awful Human Being” Vaudevillian Road Show.

#18: Jason Derulo – Don’t Wanna Go Home

For the sake of pop music, let’s hope that “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train never becomes as iconic as “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye.

Seriously though, pop music is turning to alternative types of instrumentation more and more these days. Case and point, both “Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” by Katy Perry feature insanely cheesy saxophone solos. The former by Clarence Clemons, and the latter by Kenny G. Maybe sax solos are creeping back into the collective consciousness thanks to the popular (and incredibly worthwile) Youtube sensations “Sexy Sax Man,” and the “Eurovision Sax Guy.”

Worth Following?: Yes. Jason Derulo seems like a nice kid. His new track borrows the chorus from “Day-O,” which, for me, always conjures thoughts of Beetle Juice. This is never a bad thing.

#13: Lil Wayne – How To Love

Sometimes following Lil Wayne on twitter is like babysitting. Someday he’s going to have to graduate to Big Wayne, or even just Wayne. Even Bow Wow dropped the Lil.

Worth Following?: His tweets are few and far between, but they’re occasionally worth a chuckle. I just wish he would stop trying to sing. Detroit-based producer Detail must be a genius with autotune, because his new single honestly doesn’t sound half bad.

#13 (Ringtones): Mike Posner – Bow Chicka Wow Wow

Apparently, Posner tweeted this from a plane. What airline services chicken wings instead of peanuts? Seriously, I need to know.

Worth Following?: Yep. He’s a funny dude, with an engaging twitter presence. Also, can I just point out that he’s charting on the Billboard RINGTONES list? How can Posner ever compete with the iPhone Marimba ringtone? That’s gotta be perpetually #1.

What a stupid world we live in.

#19 (Rap Songs): Fabolous – You Be Killin’ Em

It’s always good to have an infallible comeback in your back pocket. I think it works even if you’re not a “lady wit ass.”

Worth Following?: Naturally. Fabolous is a super funny dude, and he brings the wit to twitter like a “dude wit lotsa wit.” Ugh, ebonics make my brain hurt.
