Heavy metal musician turned actor/producer/creator of all things (usually) sick/twisted/brilliant, Rob Zombie, has won the commemorative “golden god” award presented by UK magazine Metal Hammer for his devotion to “the most raucous rock music and terror inducing films.”

The annual award ceremony took place at London’s IndigO2 venue where 1,500 people watched past and present metal musicians take home awards in categories such as the “metal as fuck” award, which went to Polish death metal band Behemoth.

“Seeing metal legends and metal’s new blood equally celebrated is something Metal Hammer are proud to make happen,” a spokesperson from the magazine said.

Other winners included Judas Priest, who took home the icon award, while Twisted Sister were honored with the inspirational award. To view all winners, visit the magazine’s official website.

Zombie has recently revealed he will start working on a new album once he is finished with his latest film, The Lords of Salem, also the name of one of the songs off his third solo album Educated Horses.
