First Drowning Pool, now Rob Zombie. Is this the coolest grandpa ever?

Full disclosure: I really dislike Drowning Pool and – post-White Zombie – would probably take Rob Zombie’s movies over his music. I ain’t no playa-hater though, and have to admit I’ve enjoyed the music of both a little more recently thanks to an 82-year-old dude from Colorado.

John Hetlinger went viral last month after performing the decidedly non-Grandpa-like Drowning Pool song “Bodies” on America’s Got Talent. The band even invited him to perform onstage with them (it was pretty rough but all in good fun).

The retired aerospace engineer is no dummy and isn’t going to mess with a winning formula – for his second appearance on the show, he picked another beloved yell-fest of a hard rock song in Rob Zombie’s “Dragula.” This might be the yet, because once Hetlinger gets going, things get pretty scary (in the best way possible).

Here’s hoping for a terrifying Zombie + Hetlinger lovefest in the future.
