Brent Hinds, Mastodon‘s face-tattooed frontman and the recent star of a bizarre commercial for a Atlanta based bar, is a busy guy. Currently in the midst of promoting his recently released double-album West End Motel and Friend Without a Face, it’s being reported now that he’s joined up with The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman, ex-Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and former Jane’s Addiction bassist—not Duff McKagen—Eric Avery to form an as of yet unnamed supergroup.

Hinds tells Noisecreep that the supergroup might be named Giraffe Tongue “because they look sick,” and that while they haven’t gotten anything together just yet because each member lives in a different part of the country, they’re planning on recording “crazy stuff.”

Oh, and while all of this was going on, Mastodon recorded a new album. It’s called The Hunter and it should be out sometime this fall.
