Justin Timberlake now owns part of Myspace for some reason

The dude who played the dude who invented Napster in the movie about Facebook must have really wanted in on the web technology action and has just dumped a ton of cash into Myspace. Justin Timberlake, teaming up with Specific Media (said to be a small ad-targeting firm), has helped purchase site for $35 million, which is embarrassingly less than the $580 million News Corp bought it for six years ago.

Justin, why. If you were bored, couldn’t you have made another album? Gone on tour? Just gotten a hobby for the summer until Saturday Night Live is back in production come fall? Were you just super high or something? Anyway when you have a chance to get back to us, that’d be great. [via WSJ]
