Toronto indie pop ensemble Hooded Fang became known for their twee hooks via their 2010 full length debut, Album, recently declared one of the 40 Canadian albums on the 2011 Polaris Music Prize long list. That’s all fun and celebration for the gang, but they haven’t let the party stop there. The band has just announced their sophomore effort, Tosta Mista, a fresh foray into much grittier, cool surf-rock.

Tosta Mista will be released on July 26 via the new Toronto label Daps Records, which also boasts releases from Doldrums, Phedre, Moon King, Hut and Odonis Odonis later this year.

Stream the new sound for yourself below with two of Tosta Mista‘s tracks, “ESP” and “Den of Love.”
