Chuck Ragan helps save Dave Hause from getting robbed in a Toronto hotel

In town for NXNE last week, Philadelphia singer/songwriter (and frontman for The Loved Ones) Dave Hause was the victim of an attempted robbery in the hotel he was staying after a Sunday night gig at the Bovine Sex Club.
Hause, who has been on an Eastern Canadian tour with Hot Water Music’s Chuck Ragan, entered the hotel after the gig when a man approached him in the lobby and, seeing Hause’s guitar, attempted to set up a collaboration, claiming he was also a musician. The man followed Hause up the elevator and before Hause could get Ragan (who had returned to the hotel earlier) to open the door, an altercation started. From Hause:
‘Tweaker [robber] snapped out of it when he saw towel clad, tattooed, Braveheart-lookin-Chuck, as would most, and let go of my wrist. I let go of him and he took off for the elevator.”
Along with the A.V. Club’s sad and lonely time at NXNE, Toronto’s seen better praise days. We swear we’re nice. You can read the full account of what happened over at Hause’s blog.
