Cancer Bats start writing their new album today and vocalist Liam Cormier is ready to look on the bright side of life.

Not long before their set at D-Tox Rockfest, Cormier tells AUX that he wants to write “the most posi” record ever. “Heavy as fuck, but no more negative vibes. I’ve got none left in me.”

While it’s obviously too early to pin down exactly how the new stuff will sound—it probably won’t be out until sometime next year—the band expects it to have “lots of Sabbath and lots of pogoing,” with Cormier adding that “Black Sabbath has so much good head bounce and groove, that we were like, ‘yeah, we need more of that stuff.’”
