Watch Arcade Fire perform with Cyndi Lauper

Arcade Fire have taken to performing Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” in their live shows, but this weekend, they performed it with her.

Some not-stellar crowd footage of the performance from this weekend’s New Orleans Jazz Festival can be seen below, but it’s Lauper’s appearance on the band’s 80s-pop-leaning “Sprawl II,” above, that best cements where a lot of Régine Chassagne’s influence comes from. Lauper lends some vocal accompaniment and some slide guitar to The Suburbs‘ (and the band’s Jazz Festival set) closing track. You can watch it above.
