Rapper-turned-actor Mos Def will appear in a multi-episode arc on the sixth season of Showtime’s series Dexter. According to Billboard, he’ll be playing “an ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Michael C. Hall’s Dexter will reveal the truth of who he really is.”

Dun dun dun.

He’ll be joined by another new actor, Colin Hanks, who will portray an artifacts expert in all twelve episodes of the season. Previously, Mos Def was featured in 2004’s Something the Lord Made, where he was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie category.

Last year, Dexter was Showtime’s most watched show with an average of five million viewers per week.
