There’s nothing wrong with being confident. If we were as successful as Drake, we’d probably blow ourselves up too. But he dug his own grave when he told the Jewish Chronicle that he’s the first person to successfully rap and sing. That’s not us paraphrasing, either.

“There were people who incorporated melody before me,” he said to writer Paul Lester, “but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing.”

Come on dude, seriously? Here are some artists who rap and sing. You’ll notice they’ve all been at it longer than Drake. It’s not comprehensive, but we think it gets the point across.

Cee-Lo/Goodie Mob (1995)

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (1996)

Lauryn Hill (1998)

Mos Def/Yasiin Bey (1999)

Nelly (Yes. Nelly) (2000)

Chamillionaire (2007)

Should we go on?
